Bio
I desire to translate what's ideal into more concrete terms, which makes me a relentless perfectionist. "Seek and ye shall find." -Matthew 7:7

"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."
"When you play, play hard; when you work, don't play at all."
-Theodore Roosevelt

I am in love with process of elimination.

"Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back."

-Luke 6:37-38

http://www.ewtn.com/ It is time to give up television/movies, because the 20's are dedicated to hard work & book reading (making up for all that lost time).

I am not a feminist and will never be one, but why am I beginning to find a lot of their independent mentality so appealing? Even though I am a conservative traditional Catholic woman, perhaps there is something good in the feminist mentalities (minus the pro-choice part). Time to pick up some of their literature..

God LOVES me! SO much, times infinity WOW! I am happy to know this! In the end, God's love is all that matters to me! ♥

I've decided I want to be a saint, because I want to glorify God. "But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect." -Matthew 5:48

"I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!" -John 14:12-14

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." -Philippians 4:13

"For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!" -2 Corinthians 4:17

This one is my main journal, and first username (August 2003, I believe. Restarting April 2009, which will explain the gap). The meaning is for my friend Urvashe: who introduced me to livejournal when I was 16, shot basketball hoops with me Saturday mornings in 8th grade (her 7th grade) to the sound of boy-band pop music on her stereo, and liked to hog my share of the sidewalk while talking 200 WPM.

I'm really happy to be Catholic, and I believe everything the Church teaches (even though I don't know all or even most of the teachings, I have faith. I also plan on making an increased effort to learn). "Whatever is not from faith is sin." -Romans 14:23

Work-wise, my calling lies in biology. I've decided to make my goal more clear-cut, so I will become a psychiatrist. I need to stop being lazy, and start working hard (only under the condition that I foundationally love myself unconditionally, as God does).

"Work is love made visible." -Kahlil Gibran

I have come to believe that the most profound universal suffering throughout time is gender-specific, which makes sense when you consider the Garden of Eden. The greatest sufferings are manifested in the psyche (regarding sexuality), because that is the most personal/inherent identity facet.

In other words if you aren't in "survival mode" struggling with major third world country poverty or you aren't in the middle of a war somewhere, then most of your sufferings (man or woman) can be pinned to deep-rooted insecurities about your sexuality (Genesis 3:16-17).

I am not a fan of rebellion. However, I am most certainly a fan of rebellion against complacency. In response to our current culture, I would like to personally promote my opinion that: rebellious adults are bad, but rebellious children are good. "Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly." -Dalai Lama

It is one thing to love, yet it is another issue entirely to know how. Most of us think we know, but do we really?

If you can love even one person (in proper context, whatever the context), then you will have made a difference. Do not "love" out of context, otherwise you will create confusion and suffering (especially in children).

Akeelah [quoting Marianne Williamson]"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be briliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
Dr. Larabee: Does that mean anything to you?
Akeelah: I don't know.
Dr. Larabee: It's written in plain English. What does it mean?
Akeelah: That I'm not supposed to be afraid?
Dr. Larabee: Afraid of what?
Akeelah: Afraid of... me?

-"Akeelah and the Bee"

Anyone is capable of success through manipulation in some form or another. Yet, that, would be cheating. Cheating most certainly works, but the effects are short-lived. And besides, those who are easily manipulated tend to be the same people who would (take the opportunity to) manipulate others.

How much brighter could one shine, when humility does away with fear of oneself?

"Nature is not primarily functional. It is primarily beautiful." -Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge

"Every experience of beauty points to eternity." -Hans Urs von Balthasar

"Beauty is not only a terrible thing, it is also a mysterious thing. There God and the Devil strive for mastery, and the battleground is the heart of men." -Fyodor Dostoyevsky

"Two roads diverged in a wood,
And I, I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
-Robert Frost

"The remedy is the experience
This is a dangerous liasion
I say the comedy is that it's serious.
This is a strange enough new play on words
I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend
The rest of your nights with the light on
So shine the light on all of your friends
When it all amounts to nothing in the end
I won't worry my life away
I won't worry my life away"
-Jason Mraz

"They say I'm too young to really understand
They say I'm too old to be where I am
They say just fit in, you'll be just fine
But I can't buy the lie
The voices of the crowd always try to keep me down
But I've had enough and now I'm stepping out
Unafraid
'Cause I know who You are
Unafraid
Staring life in the face
'Cause I know who I am is who You made
So here I stand

Unafraid" -Joy Williams

"Every time I fall a little bit harder
Every time I fall a little bit farther
Every time I fall
I fall right back into Your arms.
" -Jaci Velasquez

"Not well-traveled, not well-read
Not well-to-do, or well-bred
I just want to hear instead
'Well done, good and faithful one'
I want to leave a legacy
How will they remember me?
Did I choose to love?
" -Nichole Nordeman

The Goo Goo Dolls - Better Days

(This only applies to you if you can hear it. Click play and you will hear it).

..something only you can give
And that's faith and trust and peace while we're alive
The one poor child who saved this world
And there's 10 million more who probably could
If we all just stopped and said a prayer for them

So take these words
And sing out loud
'Cause everyone is forgiven now
'Cause tonight's the night the world begins again

I wish everyone was loved tonight
And somehow stop this endless fight
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

"You are nothing else than your life." -Jean Paul Sartre

"Don't think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It's self-conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can't try to do things. You simply must do things." -Ray Bradbury

to make you like everybody else, means to fight the hardest battle which
any human being can fight; and never stop fighting."
- e.e. cummings

"Me thinks thou dost protest too much." -Shakespeare

"If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn't love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God's secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn't love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn't love others, I would have gained nothing." -1 Corinthians 13:1-3
